Starting from the unique cultural elements of Thailand, it shows how traditional culture can be integrated into modern design through the combination of different materials and functions. Mr. Kanji Nomura shared his experience in garden and landscape design in this forum. Taking The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto and The Siddhartha Hotel Beijing as examples, he gave an in-depth explanation of the concept and practice of garden and landscape design. From his personal growth experience, he recalled his learning process under the guidance of Sanrei Shigemori, the pioneer of modern Japanese withered landscapes, and shared the valuable experience of his early participation in the surveying and mapping of famous gardens such as Katsura Rikyu Shrine and Kinkaku-ji Temple.

Bill Bensley shared his 40 years of design experience and emphasized the importance of “breaking out of the box”. In his speech, he recalled his journey from landscape designer to hotel architect, emphasizing the innovative collaboration across fields. In addition, Bill plans to launch nature-inspired furniture designs to raise funds for ecological conservation. Through these projects, he hopes to inspire the designers and students in the audience to work together to promote innovation and sustainability in hospitality design.
